Steve and I both Twitter, and although we’ve decided not to set up a separate Twitter account for Ruby, we tweet about her a lot. Tweets are generally considered disposable, but some are worth remembering. I went through our recent tweets about Ruby, and pulled out some I’d like to highlight and save here. Click through to read them if you’re not already following us on Twitter.

After looking askance at a mom & kid dressed similarly, I realized that Ruby and I match today too (navy shirts, jeans, brown shoes). Oops! |

Ruby is currently laying on the floor with her (soft) hockey puck, saying “snuggle puck… snuggle puck…” |

Ruby is pushing her limits at the play center today. Walked down one slide (no hands) and went down another headfirst. That’s my girl! |

Ruby is now giving the awesomest, squeeziest hugs. |

Ruby just made a “bulldozer” out of her toast. It “vrooms around” her tray! Now other pieces are a car and dump truck. |

Feeling role-modely as I install something with Ruby watching. Now she is demanding tools of her own! Looking around for small (real) tools. |

Steve |
Ruby is in one of Picnik’s new “sample photos”. It’s nice (but a little weird) to see her photo up on everyone’s monitor at work. |

Chuckling as I watch the napcam: Ruby put her blanket over her head and stumbed around her crib for a while, arms outstretched. |

Ruby and I get the same songs stuck in our heads! Today it’s “Great DJ” by the Ting Tings. We both picked it out of the mix on KEXP. |
30-Mar |
Kate |
Ruby came to say goodnight while I was @ my computer. She looked @ the screen & said “Facebook!” We were boggled. I haven’t taught her that. |

Travelling with Ruby is great because she charms almost every single person we encounter. |

Hee hee for the past 15 mins Ruby has been shaking water from her sippy cup onto her hands and styling her hair. Now it’s teddy bear’s turn. |

Playing with Ruby: a slightly modified cardboard box is alternately a boat and a spaceship. |
21-Apr |
Kate |
The bathroom is the most uncomfortable room to sit in our house. Contemplating this as Ruby decides to sit interminably on the potty. |
22-Apr |

It turns out that Ruby has a real affinity for worms. They merit her tiny voice and sometimes she’ll touch them gently. |

Wow, Ruby is totally ambidextrous – even with scissors! (We have a righty and lefty pair.) |

Ruby, loudly to me in a public place while pointing her finger toward me: “Here’s some cream for your bum!” Luckily nobody understood her… |
